I built the assless bike when I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2008. My doctor demanded that I NOT ride on a bike seat until my treatment was finished. I said "what if the bike HAD no seat." He rolled his eyes a little but okayed it, and I began building the bike that afternoon. When they heard what was going on, Chris King, Phil Wood, and White industries all donated the parts for this bike. An incredible display of generosity given that I had only even been part of the industry for about 9 months at the time!!
This torture rack took me too and from treatment off and on over almost 4 years.
I am auctioning it off now to raise money for VNSNY home hospice. I am currently terminally ill, and have already outlived my expiree date. The home Hospice team from Visiting Nurse Service is taking amazing care of me. You can read about my desicion to donate money in the way that I am here.
